Ma Barley

Ma Barley was conceived and is led by Mark “Meadowlark” Erickson. Mark approached each one of us to ask if we’d like to create a band just for one gig – to play some reggae at Bob Marley’s Birthday Party in February 2007, and at the same time celebrate the housewarming – kind of early grand opening of the Fort George Brewery in Astoria. At the party we all realized there was no way we could just hang this up – it was too too fun. So we decided to keep working together. Since then Ma Barley has been growing. We are now comprised of Kevin Violette, Jeremy Hirsch, Brigido Eduardo, Chandler Johnson, Joey Patenaude, Terry Erickson, Tom Peake, and of course, Mark Erickson. Roots Rock Reggae, soul and ska is on the bill. We’re simply satisfying our musical urge, and others want us to too. It’s easy to reach us.
